About the Blog

The idea for this blog came quite some time ago … you see, I was once pictured in a local paper. The picture had a not so friendly caption: “Did everyone buy their clothes at the same expensive thrift store? Too-cool hipsters line the bar…” — I was wearing jeans & a t-shirt, so I was pretty proud of myself for looking so cool. Maybe it was the hat?

At any rate, the article went on a long rant about the ‘hipster elite’ … Slightly irritated, I bitched to a friend about the stereotype. His response was: “…blah, blah, blah, you’re the hippest hipster in hipsterville.” Youch. Now, before you take any of these words too terribly seriously I must point out, in earnest, that I am almost certainly not.

But I decided then to start a blog … you know — music, books, movies, incoherent ramblings about day to day weirdness that is my average day. The idea crossed my radar again at a Dirtbombs concert when a friend yelled to me “Anyone who doesn’t love this band should just kill themselves”. And I agreed. And I meant it. The hold up was that I couldn’t find the perfect wombat image to use for the banner. Oh — that and the fact when I’m not busy being busy, I’m busy being lazy. But now, as you can see, I’ve got my wombat image. So settle in … grab a pabst, kick off those Chuck Taylors, toss that trucker cap on your Spiderman sheets … and (I hope) enjoy!
